Welcome to the Community of Practice (CoP) on ‘NCDs and Law’ hosted by the World Health Organization.

Please be aware that all participants in the CoP must agree to the following Terms of Engagement as part of joining the CoP:

• Individuals agree that they are not impersonating or representing anyone, aside from themselves by registering as a member of a CoP and participating in subsequent discussions;

• CoP members understand that they participate in discussions only in their individual capacity;

• CoP members will at all times maintain a professional tone;

• CoP members form part of the CoP without receiving any financial or commercial benefits from it;

• CoP members undertake to only make contributions that are ethical and respect the confidentiality of the process, meaning: the privacy of other members and their contributions to the virtual discussions, respect for different opinions, and a fair attitude to ongoing discussions, free from prejudice or bias;

• CoP members commit to uphold WHO’s integrity, independence, credibility and reputation, in particular by upholding confidentiality and not making public any knowledge or information shared within the CoP before it has passed through the two filters 1) the CoP’s facilitator and the respective Steering Group, which must include at least one WHO technical focal point and 2) GCM/NCD Secretariat and the WHO ePub system;

• CoP members declare that they do not have or have had during the past four years any formal association, affiliation or link, with the tobacco or arms industry, or any subsidiary of a tobacco/arms company or commercial entity involved with the manufacture, sale, or distribution of tobacco/arms or tobacco related products; and

• CoP members should understand that the Steering Group of the CoP reserves the right to request additional information from them in respect of their membership, if deemed necessary.
